Bio

Beau Cornelius is a jazz pianist, adjunct professor, private musical instructor, and music producer who is based out of Miami, Florida. From January 2022 to the present, Beau most recently served as an adjunct professor at Miami Dade College (Kendall Campus) where his duties included developing curricula, teaching applied jazz piano classes, recruiting new students, and lecturing on various music history and theory courses. He also concurrently served as adjunct professor at Barry University where he performed similar instructional duties. In addition to his formal teaching activities, Beau also recruited over thirty new students to study with him through a private lesson format.

In 2020, Beau graduated with a Masters Degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Southern California, Thornton where he was directly mentored by eight-time Grammy winning producer, Gregg Field. This mentorship, combined with Beau's demonstrated musical skills, led to a full scholarship to the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music Doctoral Program.

In 2017, Beau was granted a high musical honor when he was selected from a national candidate pool to play with Disneyland's All-American College Band. A native Floridian, Beau grew up in the Ocala area and attended Florida State University from 2014 through 2018 to study jazz piano performance. Concurrent with his Florida State studies, Beau performed solo, duo, trio, and quartet sets regularly at The Grand Bohemia Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

Beau has a deep passion for the jazztronica music platform and has been focusing on the fusion of electronic music and traditional jazz. He regularly performs five nights per week and holds weekly residencies at the Betsy-Ross Hotel, the Faena Hotel, and the Ritz Carlton Bal-Harbour in Miami, Florida. In addition to performing at these fine hotels, Beau performs at weddings, parties, fundraisers, and corporate events across the country.

Beau has worked with and studied under notable artists such as Gregg Field, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Javon Jackson, John Clayton, Wayne Bergeron, Alphonso Johnson, Rodney Jordan, Alan Pasqua, Russell Ferrante, Peter Erskine, Patrice Rushen, Dafnis Prieto, Chuck Bergeron, Dan Jordan, Martin Bejerano, and Steve Haughton. He has also opened for major artists such as P Diddy, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Dianna Ross, and Busta Rhymes at the 2023 American Express Carbone Event.
